I write. Whether it's songs, poems, essays, or short stories, I write.
I take pictures… obviously, and I drink sangria like it's water.
Everything else is irrelevant. Well of course that's not true.
I'm 23 and I'm trapped right in the midst of oppression and liberation.
I'm just trying to figure things out.

Looking for a lane to dive into, a party to crash.
I'm that jack of all trades type of girl which in turn hasn't allowed me much room for mastering any of it.
Although it can be frustrating in the sense that

I don't feel connected to anything
it also leaves room for this abundance of freedom....a connection to everything.
I'm the biggest contradiction walking. I can't help it. I believe in everything.
It's scary to think about.
They say if you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything and
I suppose I can relate but that's just it, I stand for it all.
I stand for feeling. Ashley tells me our feelings aren't our friends but
I'm not so sure I believe her yet. What else do we have?
Through all the nonsense, I've discovered that I have a passion for expression.
However one chooses to do it, It must be done. So that's what I'm here to do.

I have to say creating this book has been a bit of a journey.
I've learned so much about myself through the process from the rides to
different shoot locations to my encounters with the people we've captured.
One thing I didn't learn is that I'm a procrastinator, I knew that already.
I'm honored to be apart of something so new, so inviting, and relatable.
Shit I'm honored to be apart of something complete.

This book offers something for everyone, marijuana indulger or not. I can almost guarantee there's at least one character

or situation we all can connect to. When we first began this process, I didn't think I'd find much in it.

I had probably been a year and some months sober from mary jane at the time and figured I'd take some shots and be done with it.
However that was not the case.  Every shoot we did carried a story.  Whether it was from a young dude chasing his dreams as an artist
or a group of people fighting for the right to live freely, or better yet just a man looking for answers,
they all had a something living within them that needed to be shared.
What is even more beautiful about the situation is they all found comfort or release or inspiration in the same thing.... marijuana.
This book isn't about getting high, and posting up on the couch
letting your life waste away.

This book is about a common feel good that all different types of people identify with, and I appreciate that.

I'm also appreciative of the people that allowed us a tiny peak into their existence, because without those glimpses we tend to feel a little alone.
It's been a beautiful thing being part of this and I couldn't have asked for a better director to execute it with.
I'm thankful for Ashley allowing me into her work and I hope
you all take something from what we are attempting to give you.
